The Marina Restaurant is known as one of the best upscale restaurants in Gisborne. The restaurant is located on a beautiful property where three rivers connect; the Waimata River, the Taruheru River, and the Turanganui River. Guests are invited to bring their own set of spectacles, or you may ask the wait staff to borrow some as you enjoy your meal.

Lunch and Dinner Menus

The Marina Restaurant offers a two-course or three-course bistro-style lunch menu (a main course and dessert), and an exquisite fine dining Michelin style dinner menu. The restaurant is open Thursday through Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. for the lunch menus, and Tuesday through Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. for the dinner and dessert menus. The restaurant is closed every Sunday, Monday and during public holidays.

History of the Marina Restaurant

The Lysnar Ballroom was an extravagant renovation project, built for a daughter’s 21st rite-of-passage into womanhood. It certainly appeared that no expense was spared for this celebration. There was even a loft built just for a string quartet and a chaperones’ room on top of the building. When the building was moved, these were left intact and transformed into the elegant restaurant that it is today.
